Path  of  futures

Over a period of four weeks, we installed a “Path of Futures” as a public-space intervention in the city center of Schmalkalden. Along an urban walking route, 15 speculative signs invited people to discover and question different futures and to engage in conversation with one another. For the development of the signs, hyperlocal future scenarios were created in dialogue with young people as well as local actors from administration and regional development. These scenarios are tailored to the conditions, challenges, and potentials on site, while at the same time connecting to international perspectives and questions.
