Installation  with  bumblebees

As a starting point for designing this experiential space for our workshop on insects, we worked with industrial bumblebee boxes. The installation was based on the industrial use of bumblebees for pollination in greenhouses. Through the visible separation of the insects from the surrounding space, a moment of irritation emerged that opened up questions about our relationship to insects, their utility, and the treatment of living organisms within technical systems. The installation served as a starting point for conversations about insect protection, agriculture, and biotechnological infrastructures.
